365

At the end of December I started to contemplate the New Year and decided I wanted to participate in a 365 photography project during 2013. The idea of a creating a photo series also happens to fall into one of my 27 before 28 goals. I wanted to pick a fun topic and thankfully my sister came up with the brilliant idea to do 365 of jewelry! These are my pictures for the first 35 days of the year! Only 330 days left to go! I'll try to post updates each month. You can also stay connected more frequently by following my jewelry facebook page here!

Home Part 4: Bedroom

Here is the last part of the apartment tour, room. It is very small. We don't actually think it was intended to be a bedroom. We think they put up a wall in the middle of what was part of the dining room to add a....den? I'm not sure what you'd call it, but I've tried to make the most of the space and make it my own.

This is might be the only painting hanging in our apartment that Heather didn't do; it's actually mine. Peter Bradley Adams' song Los Angeles holds a special place in my heart.

Note: My bed is pushed up to my "closet" to the left. There is only enough room to hang a few coats in there.

Bedding/Rug: Target

I told you it was small! We can't even pull the trundle bed out all the way. However I did get my desk situated just right which is important so I can have a solid work space for my Premier Designs Business and so I can stay organized. This room has no overhead lighting, but luckily the lamps and white walls brighten things up.

Mirrors: Ikea
Bulletin Boards: Handmade by our Grandpa

One of my favorite parts of my room is my inspiration boards! I haven't changed them since we moved in, but I think I might update them monthly, depending on what I find that inspires me. It's definitely helped me when coming up with new outfits and trying new looks.

I hope you enjoyed a peak into our new place! We are beyond grateful to be able to call this our home.

Home Part 3: Heather's Bedroom

The apartment tour is coming to an end; there's only one post after this. It feels amazing for each of us to have our own space after sharing for so long. This is Heather's room. I felt it was only fair that after having the biggest room at our place in California that Heather got the bigger room in this apartment. Plus, she already had a queen size bed that a friend had given her, and this cute quilt from Urban to go on it. Heather's room is pretty random, eclectic and bright, but  it reflects her style very well.

Quilt/Shams: Urban Outfitters (from 2008)
Afghan: made by Heather
Pillows: Target & Ikea
Robot: made by Heather & myself

A big thank you to my parents for allowing us to take this dresser and mirror off their hands. The crate on the floor contains all of her art supplies. (Also, ignore the floor. That's just how the floor looks-paint splatter, scratches and all. Ah, the joys of renting!)

Something that makes our apartment extra special is that most of the paintings and wall decor were done by Heather. She is so talented and it makes this place feel more like home.

We would give you a tour of the closet, but it's so long and narrow that it's pretty impossible. Heather and I share the closet which we have jam packed. Our wardrobes need another brutal cleaning....mostly because the bar is bending and we're out of hangers. I blame Target.

Home Part 2: Dining Room & Kitchen

Welcome to our dining room and kitchen!

We knew right away that we wanted to make this nook into a little bar.

Tray: Target

This table and these chairs are both my pride and joy while also being the bane of my existence. We picked them up for $10 at a neighbor's garage sale. It was pretty scruffy and some of the tiles were missing and broken, but we decided we could use a DIY to keep us busy. We channeled our inner Rachel Denbow, DIY Queen, and we stripped paint, sanded, primed, painted, tiled, grouted, etc. It was so time consuming and probably took us a few months to complete everything, but I love how it turned out. I am looking forward to sharing many meals with friends and family here.

Sliding doors between the living room and dining room.

Can we talk about this adorable built-in for a moment? Love! A couple years ago my mom cleaned out her china cabinet and Heather and I boxed up things we would want "someday". It's so cool that I have a place to display these beauties from both of my grandmothers and my mom.

Sweet Archibald came out to say hello!

The RED walls and the mosiac countertop sure liven up the kitchen. Note the juicer and David's Tea....my new vices.

Thermos and canteen courtesey of dad cleaning out the garage. Paintings done by Heather.
