busy girl

sorry for the lack of posts. my life is ridiculous right now. my seattle girls fly in friday afternoon for the weekend. we're gonna do halloween hollywood style. so excited! then next thursday i fly up to seattle. i get to meet baby adam, who's 6 weeks old today! and (hopefully) i'll get to see my friend daniel who got back in august from two years in the peace corps in jordan. three weeks from friday or saturday heather and i will be moving home to idaho. so add packing and homework in the mix. i've been trying to get ahead on homework for next week, but i'm kind of going crazy. i shouldn't put so much pressure on myself, but i really want to enjoy this weekend and the next without worrying about homework. we'll see how it goes. well time to get back to homework, i need to get stuff done and get to bed early because i have a hair appointment in the morning! goodnight.

5 Things I Love When I'm Sick

I know I haven't posted much lately, but like I said before I've been sick for the past week. I thought my 5 things I love for this week should be a sick version.

1. House, M.D.: When I'm sick I spend most of my time on the couch. I love having something to watch while I feel miserable. House is always a great show to watch, just a little ironic to watch when you're sick. Ha. Also, I think I have a crush on him.

2. Pike Place Market Spice Tea: Not only does it remind me of Seattle, but the hot tea tastes great and is perfect to drink when you have a sore throat!

3. Vicks Vaporub: My dad is OBSESSED with Vicks. Anytime Heather or I would get sick he would insist on smothering us with Vicks and would always try to put it on our noses (ouch!). When looking for a picture I found out that besides just putting it on your chest for a cough, you can rub it on your feet too! Weirdo. I'm gonna warm up some socks in the dryer before bed and try it!

4. Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal: There's just something comforting about a nice bowl of hot oatmeal. When I'm sick I don't really want to eat anything, but this is usually perfect!

5. Victoria's Secret PINK pj's: There's nothing like a comfy pair of pj's when you're feeling sick. I have way too many VS PINK sweats, but I just love them so much! Super cute and cozy!

Every Ten Steps

I went on a little photo walk today for an assignment. After every 10 steps I would stop and take a picture. I have a bunch more, these are just a few of my favorites. I can't tell you how happy this made me today. I loved the orange berries! There were three snails in a row on the tree in the last picture, so cool!

Secret Paint Party

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been sick & just keeping up on homework has been a challenge.

Last month I randomly found The Ting Ting's twitter page. I followed them and that night they posted about a secret paint party/show in L.A. the next night (Sept 19). I emailed right away and got my name on the list plus one.

The next day, the roomies and I went to Disneyland. When we got home we were wiped out. Heather and I debated about going but finally decided we had to, because the whole thing was just too random and we knew we'd have fun.

We drove to L.A. and parked at a garage on Hollywood Blvd. We walked to the venue and waited in line for about an hour. They slowly let people in, first having us sign release forms, then providing us with free Adidas track suits and having us change into them. We went down to the party, waiting for about another hour for everything to start. Finally they opened curtains and the room doubled in size. People were waiting with trays of paint bottles and everyone started going crazy! Paint everywhere!!

The walls were covered in black squares that everyone was supposed to decorate. The Ting Tings are going to use the final work as their next album artwork. After at least a half hour they finally came on stage. Heather and I stayed off to the side, she had already gotten paint in her ear and almost in her eyes. At one point I randomly glanced over my shoulder and saw Perez Hilton. I nudged Heather and told her, then proceeded to go over and ask for a picture with him.

We ended up leaving fairly early because we were both exhausted and still had a long drive home. So we walked down Hollywood Blvd covered in paint and weren't the weirdest people there. Right before we got on the elevator at the parking garage we spotted two girls from the Disney show Jonas. Unfortunately we weren't exactly fit for pictures and they were busy with friends. What a crazy, ridiculous night!!

5 Things I Love

1. Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami: I never watched Keeping Up With the Kardashians until this summer. When I found out about this spin-off I was really excited. These girls are hilarious! I'm sad the finale was Sunday but I can't wait for Khloe's wedding special November 8th!

2. Barcelona Absolutes: This is one of my favorite cds. As I've said before, these guys are AMAZING! If you get the chance, go to one of their shows! They know how to rock it! I hope they'll be playing a show down here before I move or that they'll be playing in Boise after I move home! Love 'em!

3. In-n-Out: This is one thing I'm going to miss like crazy!!! After moving down here I learned about the secret menu. The Barcelona boys told us to order a Flying Dutchman once. They wouldn't tell us what it was (and I won't tell you). You have to experience it for yourself. My typical order is a #2 with the burger & fries BOTH animal style and a Coke! Love!

4. Giuliana & Bill: Don't ask me how I got hooked on this show. I just know I did and I'm OBSESSED! Giuliana is hilarious and beautiful and Bill is a great down-to-earth guy who balances her perfectly. The season finale was Wednesday and I can't wait for season 2 in January!

5. My tattoos: I got my first tattoo in May 2008. My friends Aimee and Megan came with me for moral support. It's a combination of Brett Dennen's song Make the Most and Kurt Halsey's artistic style. It's a reminder to make the most of this life because "it moves so fast, there's no time for perfection." I got my second tattoo with Heather and Jenny in January this year. We all got the same one. It is also inspired by Kurt Halsey's art. The two blue stars represent Heather and Jenny. This past year and a half has been full of crazy adventures and it's a reminder to live life to the fullest.
