Inspiration
One of my assignments this week is to make a photo collage for my Photoshop class (we learned about layers this week). Of course, I'm supposed to use my own images. I had some ideas in my head, but wasn't sure how or what to do exactly. I ended up going out into my backyard and snapping some pictures, just so I had something to start playing with. The gate was the first collage I made and the flower was second. I'm not quite sure what I think yet, or which one I will submit. This is my first attempt at anything like this on Photoshop. Let me know what you think.

Kat Von D
In my last 5 Things I Love post I mentioned that I love the show L.A. Ink. Not only is it an awesome show, but Kat Von D is a rockstar. She's done so much in her career and she's only 28. I find her inspiring and absolutely gorgeous.

contrast of hue
This is an image I turned in for my assignment last week while I was in Arlington. Debb, Jenny and I went to the hospital to see all of Debb's gorgeous baby pictures. I was looking for something that would fit the criteria of the assignment and this just fell into my lap. The assignment was to create a photo that utilized contrast of hue, while paying attention to the picture plane. Creating color combinations of pure hues that either come forward or recede, causing activation of the picture plane. I love how this image turned out, and apparently so did my professor! :)

journey
I got back this afternoon from my week long trip to Arlington, WA. I helped Jenny's mom, Deb with a BUNCH of photoshoots for her business, Photographic Journeys. She had shoulder surgery and still isn't able to hold her camera. We had about 11 shoots total, a mix of high school seniors and newborns. I learned SO much and grew SO much this week. I don't think I can even begin to express what an amazing week I had. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I'll be posting the pictures I took on here.

Music Monday: Britt Nicole
I usually don't write anything with my Music Monday posts, but felt like I needed to with this one. Not only is Britt Nicole the cutest girl EVER, but she has a beautiful heart. This video moved me to tears. Please watch the whole thing, even the little intro. It's worth your time. Love you my friends.

streams in the wasteland
This is what the Lord says-
he who made a way through the seas,
a path through the mighty waters,
who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
"Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
The wild animals honor me,
the jackals and the owls,
because I provide water in the desert
and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chose,
the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise."
Isaiah 43:16-21
