Heather and I are leaving in just a little bit for a roadtrip. We're headed to Longview, Portland and Seattle for a week! I can't wait to see my friends! Please be praying for safe travel for us. I doubt I'll blog much when I'm gone. Check back at the end of next week for some new posts and maybe even pictures from the trip.

You might have seen Heather's post today that it has been six months since we've moved home. If you read Jenny's post in February I finally figured out how to explain how I felt about leaving California. It was like breaking up with a boyfriend (not that I would know, but I can imagine that it's a similar feeling). Some people assumed that we left because we didn't like California and that is DEFINITELY NOT the case. We LOVED it!! We were adventurous and did and saw so many things I never thought I ever would. It was gorgeous and there was always fun and amazing things to see and do. I miss it terribly. Life has changed a lot in the last six months. I still don't really know what I'm doing or what's next for me. But as Heather said, "I am in God's will and there is no other place I would rather be."
In a week it will be exactly a year since I was let go from my job. I remember sitting in my car bawling my eyes out, knowing I had to go back inside and turn in my parking pass, etc., trying to breathe and praying, "God, you are in control. I don't know why this is happening, but You do. I'm trusting you." In the last year I've completed my first year in an online Master's program at Academy of Art University and I moved home. I'm starting my photography business and it looks like Heather and I will be working at the National Interagency Fire Center Return Warehouse this summer. It's definitely not what I thought I would be doing, but I know I'm where I'm supposed to be.
My love for fashion is obvious, but it has grown since I've started watching fashion documentaries. My goal is to blog about a different fashion documentary every Friday or every other Friday. Today I thought I'd start with Karl Lagerfeld and the documentary Lagerfeld Confidential. I saw it last year when I was living in California. Ask Heather and Jenny, I was so excited to watch it that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I probably even cried. It was the first time Karl Lagerfeld ever agreed to let someone create something about his everyday life. There is no other authorized biography that exists about Karl. The movie follows the life and work of the iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld for two years.
After I watched the movie I wanted to know more about him. A friend recommended the book The Beautiful Fall: Fashion, Genuis and Glorious Excess in 1970s Paris by Alicia Drake, which is about Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. I found it fascinating and would definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in fashion.

I absolutely LOVE wearing rings! As much as I love them, I actually don't own a lot. I wish I had more! I'm a size 7-8 (depending) and it can get hard to find them in size 8. My inspiration for wearing so many rings comes from Karl Lagerfeld. His hands are always covered in rings and I think it's fabulous. Although his reasons for wearing them aren't for fashion, they're because he hates the way his hands look. Anyway, enjoy the gorgeous rings!
I am not the biggest hat-wearer, but I'd like to be. I have a few that I can wear without feeling like a dork. I guess what I need is some confidence and more hats. Here are some hats that I'd love to pull off.
