Wardrobe Wednesday

I don't know how often I'll be able to do Wardrobe Wednesday posts this summer. Let's face it, you don't dress very fashionable while working in a warehouse. My goal is to take pictures on the weekends and then post them on Wednesdays. We'll see how it goes. I wore this outfit on Sunday. Normally when I get home from church I change into something more comfortable, but I loved my outfit so much I wore it all day long. I got the skirt from a thrift store in April and hadn't worn it yet, so here's it's big debut.

Oh Monday...

Today has been one of those days where everything is harder than it should be. It's been discouraging and challenging.

The bright spot in my day, besides having lunch with friends, was finding out I won a giveaway on What I Wore. Check out Jessica's post about her AMAZING Forever 21 Flagship Preview. What an amazing experience for her! I couldn't be more excited that I won this giveaway! Thanks girl!!

Fashion Friday: Swim Suits & Bikinis

One of the things I miss the most about California is going to the beach or the pool and wearing one of my many bikinis. I accumulated so many while I was there. Thankfully, it's finally starting to feel like summer here in Idaho. I think in July Heather and I might go to Roaring Springs with our cousins. I told her that I wanted to bring all my bikinis with me and change into a different one every hour because I won't be able to decide which one I should wear. Wouldn't that be amazing? Haha!

How To Stay Positive

I saw this video on Brian's blog and couldn't stop laughing. This little girl is hilarious. I've been so exhausted and overwhelmed lately, this week especially. I am incredibly thankful that I have a temporary job that pays extremely well, but I've had to keep reminding myself. Heather and I sang this song yesterday, but filled in the blanks. It was pretty funny. Enjoy the video and remember to count your blessings!

Lift Up Ellie

Please join me in praying for this beautiful little girl, Ellie Potvin who was diagnosed with cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma, Stage 4) on July 2, 2008 at age 6. In a post Ellie's mom wrote on her CaringBridge website today, hospice said Ellie may have about a week left. My heart breaks for her parents and her twin sister, Grace. Her mom has asked that everyone pray for a miracle for Ellie, because we know God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or image (Ephesians 3:20a). Pray for peace that surpasses understand for this family. Lift up Ellie.

Fashion Friday: Legs

Who else had the dumb rule at school that your shorts or skirts had to be past your fingertips? My long legs and long arms made it difficult to follow. I even got reprimanded in middle school for wearing shorts that were an inch above my fingers. So here's to all the girls who also had a hard time following that rule: have fun showing off your lovely legs!

Spice Up Your Life

Last night my mom hosted a Wildtree Herbs tasting party at our house. We heard of Wildtree from a woman who attends the networking meeting that my mom and I go to once a month. Wildtress products are natural, with no additives, preservatices, MSG or food dyes. They sell gourmet culinary blends, infused Grapeseed oils, dressings and sauces. With Wildtree, cooking is not only healthy and easy, but also delicious! At the tasting we sampled some of the following things:

Grapeseed Oil, which is made from grape seeds after wine production. It has no preservatives, sodium, trans fatty acids or cholesterol. It has the lowest levels of saturated fats of all oils. It is also ideal for frying at high temperatures without burning. We sampled the basil pesto, butter flavored, hickory smoke, zesty lemon and roasted garlic. They were all fabulous and incredibly flavorful!

Garlic Galore Seasoning Blend, we dipped veggies in this yummy stuff. This blend can be used for a dip, like we had, or for garlic bread, pasta, sauces and almost anything else you can think of.

Bayou Blend, we sprinkled this blend over chicken and then grilled it. It can be used on seafood, shellfish, tuna salad, pasta salad, French fries or even popcorn.

Rancher Steak Rub, which was sprinkled on mini burgers. This was insanely good! It added so much flavor to the little burgers. Heather and I took the leftovers for lunch at work today and just ate the burger cold and without a bun. Amazing!

Very Berry Cheesecake Blend, was one of my favorites! You can mix this blend with yogurt and serve it as a fruit dip. Amy mixed it with a cream cheese and whipping cream for our tasting. I loved spreading it on a graham cracker and topping it with blueberries and a strawberry. It wasn't too sweet, but super light and refreshing.

I recommend checking out Wildtree Herbs, finding a rep and hosting a tasting. Amy shared for a little while, but mostly we chatted and ate all the delicious food. The Wildtree website has a recipe section to give you ideas of many different ways to use their products. I've been in such a food rut lately and I can't wait for my mom to get her order so I can spice things up.
